Shortmarket Social takes place this Sunday from 11:00 to 17:00 as part of car-free Bree St Sundays in partnership with @geordin.hill.lewis and @young_urbanists.
For the first time, all eateries and retailers along Shortmarket Street will be open and trading directly onto a pedestrian-priority street. It’s a relaxed, low-key open-street afternoon made for walking, sitting, eating and enjoying the city at your own pace.
Come and enjoy Cape Town’s new public space. The following retailers will be open this Sunday:
@noahbycharleshope – NEW
@rosettaroastery
@chimi by @lunabellev
@weare_bare by @wearenice_ – NEW
@hiballcocktailbar – NEW
@sadstore_sa
@thehouseofmachines_cpt
@wesbistrobar at the @thetradehotel.co.za
More to come soon
There will be live music for the street. Come through for good food, good coffee and an easy Sunday vibe on one of Cape Town’s most interesting little streets.
Live music or the consumption of alcohol is not permitted on the street. @abandcalledmurray will perform from 13:00 to 15:00, followed by a DJ from House of Machines until around 17:00. No vendors are allowed on the street. This is a non-event activation intended only for pedestrian priority to support local businesses.
