More on the Show:
After one year of writing an album, I am now in the demo phase before going into the studio to record. The songs are complete in their most original form, raw and stripped down, the way they have been written by me alone in my bedroom while my children sleep.

My album was written in the moments in between my real life as a mother and a full-time artist and business owner. I have only known how to write music in the in-between moments. A fractured process, but when the songs are all played together there is a precision and honesty. I feel that these new songs are the most honest I have been in a long time in my music. Similar themes from my first EP, Ab Ovo, shining through and songs that I hope my mother will hear and my daughter will cherish when she is older.

Writing an album is a lengthy process and incredibly special, with every step that comes with it; from bedroom recordings on my phone to then taking it to my band members to create demos and then finally to the studio; what you eventually hear on streaming platforms is just the end of a very wonderful, long process. There is a magic to the places in between which is what I love to share with others.

No Horrors is about the first moments of falling in love and the simplicity that comes with that, regardless of the daily things that haunt us. It is also about how we overcome love and find ourselves again. Christine is a tribute to my great-grandmother, Christine, and more of a conversation between myself and the generations that surround me. I can’t wait to share these songs before things transform into the album and take on a new form.

Afterglow is about the confusion and grief that comes with trying to understand and accept another person’s process in love. What might seem obvious to us is not always easy for the other and that is what makes us so unique, but what can also ultimately break down a relationship. I am looking forward to playing these songs and more for everyone one last time before the deeper work takes place.
