So what is Cape Town Cake Picnics about?

Cape Town Cake Picnic’s idea is simple: everyone brings a cake, we lay them out on tables, and together we create the city’s biggest cake table! After a photo-and-video-friendly viewing time, we cut everything into slices and share them fairly. You’ll get to taste a variety of cakes while enjoying sunshine and good company on the lawns of one of Cape Town’s most beautiful church gardens.

What to Bring:
– A HOME-MADE cake (No Slice = No Spot, even if you bought a ticket)
– Picnic blanket
– Your ticket
– Drinks (non-alcoholic please)
– Sunhat, sunscreen, and your sweet tooth!

The Day at a Glance:
1 – 1:45 PM: Cake Viewing (photos & videos encouraged, no cutting yet)
1:45 – 2 PM: Cake Cutting (all cake-bringers must cut their cakes into 10+ equal slices)
2 – 4 PM: Cake Tasting & Picnicking (in groups of 20)

*Important* Arrive on time (1pm) to get your group number. First come first served! The Cake Picnic will begin at 1:45 PM sharp so please plan accordingly.

House Rules:
– Max 10 slices per person
– Family-friendly: No alcohol, smoking, or disruptive behaviour
– Respect the venue: No littering, no climbing trees and no stealing of any valuables
– NB: cakes must be labelled with ingredients/allergens/specifications (i.e. halaal or gluten-free)

Parking & Transport:
There is a designated parking area at the church and plenty of street-side parking as well. If full, we’ll signpost overflow options (subject to availability). No marshals provided. Please park considerately. Ride share (Uber/Bolt) highly recommended!
