#ColourTheSky is a celebration of hope, connection and the unique role each of us plays in creating brighter, more supportive communities and creating mental health awareness. Just as every kite adds its own splash of colour to the skyline, every act of kindness, understanding and support can make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.
This October, hundreds of colourful kites will take to the skies as a powerful reminder that together we can lift spirits, spark conversations about mental health and help create a world where everyone feels seen, valued and included.
For 32 years, the Cape Town International Kite Festival has filled the skies with colour while shining a light on one of society’s most important conversations: mental health.
Hosted annually by Cape Mental Health, Africa’s oldest kite festival brings together families, communities, kite enthusiasts and mental health advocates for a celebration of hope, resilience and connection.
For one spectacular weekend, giant kites from local and international kiters will #ColourTheSky! Alongside the breathtaking displays, visitors can enjoy family entertainment, interactive activities, tasty food from vendors and plenty of opportunities to experience the joy of kite flying while supporting a meaningful cause.
More than just a festival, #ColourTheSky is a call to come together in support of mental health awareness and to help create a brighter future for those living with mental health challenges. Every ticket purchased and every donation made helps Cape Mental Health continue providing essential free mental health services across the Western Cape.
