More on the Artist:
Dax spent the early 70’s in the UK, Tennessee and California learning how to write songs and get into trouble. Both seem to happen quite easily. He returned to S.A. and began playing in local bands, many of which ought to be quite familiar:
– The Other Band (1978-1982)
– Nude Red (1983-1986)
– Benny B Funk (1986-1989)
– Mud Ensemble (1995)
– Dax Butler’s Rinderpest (2001-2010)
– Seeds of Bebop (2000-2003)
– Them Particles (2008-2019)
– The Hearts of Darkness (2016-2019)
– Dax Butler and The Unholy 3 (2018-2020)
Dax has spent many years honing his skill as a composer for film and TV music and has achieved some notable placements for commercials and sync licensing deals. The early 90’s were dark times but since then creativity has been high and there has been a real renaissance for Dax as an artist in the 2010’s up to the present day.
4 Albums have been produced by the legendary Willem Moller and released by Robin Auld’s Shoreline Songs:
– 2011’s “Drink In Everything”
– 2016’s “Trouble in Mind”
– 2019’s live album, “Live at the Cottage Club” (Featuring Kyla-Rose Smith from FreshlyGround)
– 2021’s “Good to Go”
And the best news is, there is a new album in the works!
