Born from a burning itch for South Africa to birth an engaged, evolved society that’s radical, informed, and compassionate. We invite you to get deliciously curious about yourself and the world. We nurture your joy because it’s sacred fuel. Phuma Phandle is a sensory after-work adventure (extra mural activities) that spark new hobbies and interests, all in fierce community. Our blueprint for an alternative world is rooted in deep care, mutual aid, equity, inclusion, and accountability. Guided by black radical feminism, we celebrate black joy in all the creative pursuits it comes in, to the harm of none and good of all. We believe that nations have been liberated through gathering for change and our offering is a contribution to that.

Our first gathering: Is a one night only improvised choir. No pitch-perfect pipes required, just show up, make a sound, and collaborate with your hands to craft music together. You will be the opening act to Phuma Phandle’s universe of creation. Can’t hold a note? Perfect! We need your noise.
