More on the Artists:

Jennifer Eaves:
Folk musician and singer-songwriter Jennifer Eaves is a classically trained UCT music school graduate (2002-2005) with a passion for classical, contemporary, and Celtic folk music. With over 20 years of experience as a full-time musician, she composes, performs, and teaches music, blending classical, Celtic, and folk storytelling. Jennifer has released three solo albums, with her most recent being “Half of You” (2019). She now focuses on composing, performing, and touring with the duo ‘Jenny and James,’ incorporating traditional folk and bluegrass with her solo material. Jennifer has performed at multiple Cape Town Folk & Acoustic Festivals (2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2022) and sold out venues both as a solo artist and as part of Jenny & the Jameses. A highlight was performing before Jonny Clegg on the Amsterdam leg of his final world tour.

Jono Tait:
A singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Cape Town, Jono Tait’s musical journey began with classical and jazz studies, choir, piano, and trombone before discovering the guitar at fourteen. By sixteen, he was writing his own songs and hasn’t stopped since. Known as the singer, songwriter, and guitarist of Cape Town folk-rock outfit Hatchetman, Jono’s distinctive acoustic sound and three-part harmonies earned the band Silver Ovation recognition at the National Arts Festival. His musical versatility has seen him work as a session guitarist, perform with original artists, play in tribute productions, and contribute to theatre productions as a composer and musical director. Jono’s music draws from the great singer-songwriter tradition, including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Tom Petty, Neil Young, U2, and Crosby, Stills & Nash. As the custodian of The Alma Café, a beloved Cape Town live music venue founded by his parents, Jono continues the family’s commitment to live music. When he steps onto the stage as Jono Tait, it’s a homecoming—just a voice, a guitar, a pocket full of songs, and a lifetime of stories.
