More on the Artists:
Richard Tait started his musical career in Gospel groups during the seventies, moving into acoustic music and three-part harmony, inspired by the Woodstock generation. Throughout the 80s, his solo career spanned Cape Town and South Africa, later joining notable show bands like Station 70, Beatlemania, and Creedence Clearwater Revival. His solo tribute to Neil Young remains memorable.
Bill Knight began learning guitar at 16, inspired by Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and John Fogerty. Meeting Richard at Rhodes University led to a lifelong musical collaboration. Influenced by African guitar music, Mbaqanga, and Boland Blues, he released his first album, “Skollie Rock,” in 1994. Since then, he has released multiple albums, both solo and with bands like “the Old Dogs.” In 2000, he transitioned to full-time music, founding the “Cottage Club” in Fish Hoek, a venue celebrating original South African music.
