Neighbourgood x Friends For The Apocalypse Present: Word Play
A Monthly 2-Hour Creative Writing Playground
Word Play is more than just a writing workshop – it’s a mixture of games, movement, collaborative chaos, and spacious time on the page – held at Neighbourgoods’ Bree Street coworking space, and hosted by performing poet Page Dina.
We’ll move between solo writing and collaborative chaos, between structure and complete abandon. Constraints and word games trick the inner critic so things can emerge you weren’t quite conscious of. Expect light somatic moments – things like breath work and a bit of movement – to help us land in the room and shake the day off before we write.
The only rule: there are no bad ideas, only interesting experiments.
Expect laughter, connection, and a toolbox full of writing prompts. Expect to write something you didn’t know was in you.
Come if you:
– think you can’t write
– haven’t written since school
– write all the time but forgot why you loved it
– are curious what your body has to do with your creativity
– just want two hours of something completely different
No experience necessary. No pressure.
Bring a notebook, a pen, and your curiosity. A brunch menu from the restaurant next door will be available to order from.
