PechaKucha Cape Town 68: The Light Between Us
Some evenings stay with you long after the lights go down. PechaKucha Cape Town returns with an evening of brave, human storytelling centred on connection, courage, and the quiet moments that change us. The Light Between Us is about the spark that passes between people when stories are shared honestly and without polish.
This is not a corporate event. There is nothing being sold. There is no audience participation. Instead, you will hear ten short, powerful stories told by Cape Town voices, each offering a different lens on what it means to be human, connected, and alive in this city.
What to expect on the night:
PechaKucha follows the 20×20 format. Each speaker presents 20 images, each shown for 20 seconds. No one runs over time. Everyone gets equal space on stage.
You will hear from ten speakers in total, with the programme split into two halves of five speakers, separated by an interval. Speakers come from a wide mix of backgrounds. Some are first-time speakers. Others have more experience. All are people who were brave enough to stand up and share something personal, meaningful, and real.
You may come to support one speaker. You will leave talking about many.
Why people keep coming back:
People leave PechaKucha inspired, energised, and glad they made the effort to come out. There is usually one story that lingers, one voice that feels familiar, one moment where you think, “That could have been my story.” It is an evening that is thoughtful, intellectually engaging, and genuinely different from a typical night out.
Booking and seating:
This event uses allocated seating. When booking, you will select your specific seat (for example, Row A, Seat 10). This change has been made in response to audience requests and helps create a smoother, more relaxed experience.
Tickets are available across three seating tiers, allowing you to choose what suits your budget:
– Ground Floor – closest to the stage
– Level 1 – mid-range seating
– Level 2 – a more affordable option
All seats offer the same PechaKucha experience and equal access to the stories on stage. If you are attending with friends, we recommend booking together so you can sit next to each other.
