Phil de Lange: Why are you like this? LIVE in Cape Town at The Protea Hotel Fire + Ice! 10 + 11 July 2026

Following a sold out run earlier this year, SA Comics Choice Awards winner Phil de Lange brings his latest show “Why Are You Like This?” back to Cape Town! For 2 nights only, catch Phil’s observational humour and musical comedy at Protea Hotel Fire & Ice on 10 and 11 July.

Blending observational stand-up with musical comedy, the show dives into the strange, frustrating ways people behave — before turning the focus inward. Phil explores the realisation that life isn’t always what you expected but it’s the one you got – a Temu version of what you imagine.

Phil is one of the country’s most unique comedic acts with his clever blend of ukulele music, one liners, and stories. After a full run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2025 Phil earned an “Excellent Show” rating from Fringe Review, which praised his “spirited, joyful and uplifting” performance.
