Racheltjie de Beer didn’t freeze to death – she was cryogenically preserved. Defrosted in 2026 due to global warming, South Africa’s most famous folklore girl wakes up with questions, opinions, and a lot of unfinished business.

In this one-woman drag theatre show, Rachel the Bear blends comedy, cabaret, lip sync, and biting social commentary to unpack Afrikaner identity, myth-making, and what happens when the past refuses to stay frozen. Funny, sharp, and unexpectedly tender, Racheltjie Defrosted is drag beyond the club: part satire, part confession, part cultural reckoning.
