The Salty Five: 5 km of sea, sand and smiles for SALT

Hi, I’m Lea! For my Elkanah House REACH project I’m organising a 5 km fun run and walk along the beach at Big Bay. Every cent goes to the SALT School Feeding Programme, which makes sure vulnerable children in Table View and Dunoon get a proper meal every school day.

Run it, walk it, or do a bit of both. It’s flat and sandy, and everyone is welcome: all ages and prams too. Please note: no dogs (they’re not allowed on Big Bay beach), and no bikes or boards.

• Start and finish: Eden on the Bay, Big Bay, Bloubergstrand
• Sunday 1 November 2026: please arrive by 07:15, we start at 08:00
• Only 199 spots

Your ticket includes:

• Your race number and a Salty Five sticker

• An entry into the lucky draw: wine (adults only!), beach sunglasses, my home-made cookies and more

• A high five from me!

Winners are drawn at the end of the run. If you’re not there when your name comes out, you can collect your prize in Bloubergstrand within a week.

Bring a hat, sunscreen and water. Participation is at your own risk, and parents are responsible for their children.
