
Mthimkhulu Stuurman is a South African based Trombonist with over 4 years’ experience in African rhythms and melodies.
Join us for an evening of live music featuring the Umuthiomkhulu Ensemble. The event starts at 18h30 for 19h00 (kitchen orders close at 19h00). Live music begins after dinner service is completed.
Dinner, dessert, and drinks are available. The venue is fully licensed, and BYOB is not permitted. Payment can be made by card or cash, with a 15% service fee charged.

Mthimkhulu Stuurman is the founding member and leader of Umuthiomkhulu Ensemble. He was influenced by Dr Johnny Mekoa, who introduced him to jazz music, and was later inspired by Malcolm Jiyane. Mthimkhulu’s love for African Spiritual Jazz stems from his belief in ancestors. He has worked with numerous South African and international musicians, including Dr Johnny Mekoa (RSA), Prince Lengoasa (RSA), Mthunzi Mvubu (RSA), The Spam All Stars (USA), The Temptations (USA), Luyolo Lenga (RSA), Dj Ed Noodles (EUR), Imbewu Marimba Community Ensemble (RSA), and The Amazing Thailand Band, Koh Mr Saxman (Thailand) & Alexander Beets. Mthimkhulu has contributed to projects such as Bass Sings, African Jazz Hound, Gcina Mashiyane and Friends, Atom and the Voids, Emo Boys, Afro Related, Tumelo Shaq, The Moors, Sadaam Oppie, L8 Antique, and Kujenga. He is currently working on his debut album titled “Imithandazo Yethu”.
