Cape Town Craft Club hosts fun, relaxed craft events for people who enjoy making in good company. Everyone is welcome — from seasoned makers to absolute beginners.

Join the Cinema Craft Club, where we watch a familiar favourite at the cinema with the lights on, so you can craft while watching! This month, we’re screening The Grand Budapest Hotel, a celebration of quirk, wit, and pastel colours.

Swap crafting alone on your couch for an afternoon of making at the iconic Labia Theatre. The film starts at 1:45 pm sharp, but you’re invited to join us to craft in the courtyard from 12 pm!

What you’ll get:

– Members-only exclusive screening of The Grand Budapest Hotel
– Make with mates or come solo — everyone is welcome!
– A friendly, welcoming space to meet new people

What to bring:

Bring whatever craft you like, keeping in mind the limitations of a cinema.
Great options: knitting, crocheting, embroidery, doodling
Less suited: projects that need lots of space, lots of light, or extreme focus

The lights will be on, but not super bright, so set your expectations accordingly!

Tickets are only available here, through Quicket, not at The Labia ticket office, and booking is essential.

Please note: We’re so sorry, but due to space and capacity restrictions, this screening will be on Screen 4, which is upstairs and not a wheelchair
accessible venue.
