About Global Echoes

WOMAD Cape Town in collaboration with UCT’s African Music section presents Global Echoes, bringing together artists from across the world in a celebration of indigenous music, cultural heritage and artistic collaboration. The concert features Kapowairua (New Zealand), Chambre Rouge ft Mei Han (China) with Randy Raine-Reusch & Michael Aihoshi (Canada), Arashka & The Shakti Project (Réunion Island/India) and Cisalpipers (Italy) alongside UCT’s own Sinjalo Group. Through ancient traditions and contemporary interpretations, Global Echoes invites audiences into a rare live encounter with diverse musical cultures, distinctive instruments and new sonic landscapes from across the globe.
