POETRY ON THE TRAIN

A City That Reads Is a City That Moves!

Join us for Poetry on the Train, an exclusive three-part literary and cultural experience that transforms Cape Town’s railway into a moving celebration of poetry, literature, music and human connection.

Curated by Lumkile’s Book Joint SA, this unique journey brings together book lovers, poets, writers, readers, literary scholars and creatives from diverse backgrounds to experience the magic of spoken and written poetry.

The experience begins at the PRASA Premier Lounge at Cape Town Station, where guests will enjoy a welcoming atmosphere with refreshments, live music, speeches and poetry readings before boarding the train. The literary journey continues aboard the train to Nyanga Station, transforming the Central Line into a moving library and cultural corridor, celebrating both classical and contemporary poetry.

The experience culminates at Lumkile’s Book Joint SA, where guests will enjoy an exclusive literary and cultural gathering.
