This summer, Cape Town’s worlds of fine dining and contemporary African art come together as The Art of Food (TAOF) returns in collaboration with Amare — the award-winning Mediterranean coastal restaurant in Bantry Bay that has rapidly become one of the city’s most talked-about dining destinations. Renowned for its artful design, elegant interiors, and vibrant cuisine inspired by the sun-drenched flavours of the Mediterranean, Amare was recently named Africa’s Best New Restaurant 2025 at the prestigious World Culinary Awards — often dubbed the “Oscars of gastronomy.”

Launching with an intimate collector dinner on Thursday, 15 January, The Art of Food x Amare marks the beginning of a curated Summer Art Residency — a monthly series of experiential dining and art encounters taking place on the second Thursday of every month throughout the season.
Set against the backdrop of Bantry Bay’s iconic Atlantic coastline, the experience brings together a carefully selected room of collectors, investors, creatives, and cultural tastemakers for an evening of fine food, live entertainment, and exclusive access to exceptional contemporary African artworks — available for acquisition through private sale and auction.
