Dutch violinist Daniel Rowland, beloved by Cape Town audiences, will perform Peteris Vasks’ Violin Concerto No. 1, “Distant Light” for the first time with the CPO. This work is described as “nostalgia with a touch of tragedy.”

Bernhard Gueller, conductor laureate of both the CPO and Symphony Nova Scotia in Canada, will lead the orchestra in Schubert’s majestic Symphony No. 9, simply known as “The Great.”
