
We are delighted to welcome Orit Berman, a highly trained Occupational Therapist (OT), to our school for an informative and practical parent talk on gaining a deeper understanding of your child’s emotional outbursts. This is relevant across the years.
This engaging session will explore:
– The difference between tantrums and meltdowns
– Why we need to gain a deeper understanding of dysregulation
– Practical strategies parents can use from early childhood through adolescence
This talk is relevant and valuable for all parents, from Pre-Prep to High School, and offers meaningful tools to support children’s emotional wellbeing at every stage.

Who is Orit Berman?
Orit Berman is a qualified Occupational Therapist and a mom of two neurodivergent boys. She has worked with children with developmental difficulties and learning challenges for nearly 20 years and ran her own private practice for a decade, where she had the privilege of supporting children, parents, and teachers. HELD was born from the merger of her professional and personal experiences. Orit has a unique ability to support families through their parenting journey. She wears her heart on her sleeve and listens with care, compassion, and zero judgement, knowing first-hand how challenging this path can be.
Support Offered:
– One-on-one (in-person or online): 60-minute individual sessions to gain an understanding of what challenges are causing the greatest stress for you. Goal-setting together to empower you to manage your current situation optimally.
– Couples: Discuss the home situation and what the greatest stressors and concerns are. Working through how to navigate your situation optimally as a team.
– Family sessions: Educate extended family and home helpers about your child’s needs and equip them with skills to support both you, your child and themselves through the uncertain process.
– Support groups: 12 members for one 60-minute session per week for an 8-week block. Connect with other parents who really “get it”.
