WindWorx and the UCT Symphonic Wind Ensemble come together to honour the life and legacy of Sean Kierman in a special collaborative tribute concert.

The programme features WindWorx, conducted by acclaimed German conductor Christian Kohler, alongside the UCT Symphonic Wind Ensemble—an ensemble Kierman led for many years—now under the direction of Brandon Phillips, Head of Woodwind and Ensembles at UCT.

Founded in 2005, WindWorx provides a vital platform for professional and semi-professional musicians, championing excellence in wind band repertoire. The UCT Symphonic Wind Ensemble, comprising fifty-five undergraduate and postgraduate musicians, reflects the breadth of emerging talent within the South African College of Music.

This much-anticipated concert celebrates Kierman’s lasting musical leadership, his deep commitment to the wind band community, and the artistic legacy he nurtured across generations. The first 100 UCT students receive free entry (early bird), after which UCT student tickets will cost R50.
